- “Ranger Joel has taken our classes for the ‘Feathers, Fur and Scales’ presentation talk the last couple of years. We have appreciated in the past the way he has involved the children in the program. This year we marvelled at the development of excellence in his presentation, motivation and student inclusion. He angled his material expertly at the age group he was dealing with. He produced an atmosphere of excitement and mystery along with a fabulous sense of humour that had the children hooked and absorbed in all he was doing. He was aware of where the students were at and capitalised on this to produce maximum effect and interest. The presentation was varied and appropriate, and the students were enriched and enhanced educationally from this fabulous experience.

On behalf of Plan-It Youth I would like to thank both Mel and Joel for taking the time and effort yesterday afternoon to show a group of our mentors and students from Berkeley Vale campus what happens behind the scenes at the Reptile Park. We appreciate the opportunity you have given these students to expand their knowledge and awareness of their chosen career paths. Joel was particularly helpful in explaining the various training options open to them. According to the response we received from the students and mentors that attended, it was a very informative and entertaining couple of hours, and the students came away with a better understanding of what they need to do in order to pursue a career in the animal care area. In particular, the friendliness and openness of you and Joel were commented on. Once again many thanks for your hospitality and support of the programme.
